Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin, born July 24, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of an muffled Scottish pianist who, in the middle of 19th century, moves into New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an audition open to all at the age of nine. She was old, and had no previous acting experience. When she was a teenager her family left Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was the main character in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre as still a toddler. Paquin was in the role of Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the Spanish queen in a smaller character. She played teens as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
