
Kelly Clarkson, the American Dream began to come true as she was voted into be the first American Idol season. Clarkson conceived the notion that anyone could come from any place and then suddenly be a star, something tangible that American audiences could hang on to and most importantly buying it. Her debut album was a massive success, following a switch to a different label and getting more control of her sound and style, her follow-up album went on to become the top-selling album of any "American Idol" participant. She has won numerous awards, including multiple Top Ten hits, two multi-Platinum albums as well as a role as mentor on several singing programs. The singer was honored with 4 American Music Awards as well thirteen Billboard Music Awards. Two Grammy Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards and two Grammy Awards. She has received 98 major award nominations, and won seventy of them.
